"REMEMBER THE SABBATH"
Chick-fil-A Friday, OCT 27, 2017
Confirmation class Friday night (10/27) will have a special re-location to coincide with our discussion on keeping the Sabbath Day holy. Chick-fil-A in Oxnard will be open for us to order dinner at our usual start time of 6pm, but they do not engage in the practice of opening their stores for business on Sundays. That is showing some true deference to God from a by-gone era! Parents will easily recall that this used to be standard practice for almost all businesses (and sports programs) when we were kids.
We will meet and get in line at 6pm and eat first (please bring meal money). Then at about 6:20pm, we will begin our discussion right there in the restaurant (pre-approved by management) and try to rap up a little earlier (by 7:15pm). I can help provide transportation back to church in Camarillo for 5 students, if needed, and should arrive at Peace at about 7:30pm. So, please let me know if you'd like help on the return trip (unfortunately, due to other commitments, I am not available to help drive students there to Oxnard - only back). The restaurant is right off the freeway:
2040 N Rose Ave
Oxnard, CA 93036
Get off the 101 at Rose Ave
Go South (over the freeway) to Lockwood (first LEFT)
Then first RIGHT on Holser Walk (past Jimmy Johns)
(If you go to Gonzales Rd, you've gone too far!)
Upon our return to Peace any students that are available are invited to help the Youth Board who will already be at Peace setting up for the Pumpkin Fest, which starts the next morning. For those who cannot stay Friday night to help out, we would really appreciate any help at the Fest that you can provide between 8:30am-4pm Saturday, 10/28/17 (the actual Pumpkin Fest takes place 10am-3pm, Saturday). Should be a big crowd.
