"Lord, Your Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You" (Psalm 119:11). There are a lot of things one might memorize - song lyrics, math tables, parts to a play - but none so fruitful and lasting as God's sweet Word! Memorization might seem like a lost art by some, but we still prize this time-tested and effective method of learning that Luther intended with his Small Catechism some 500 years ago.
