It really is a privilege to manage what God has given us! He gives us our very life and breath (Acts 17:28). He has made man a custodian, or steward, of planet earth - and of everything good contained therein. This includes cattle, property, sea shells or paper money. We must learn to hold such things with an open hand, as in a thank offering to our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. He doesn't need our money, but we need to freely and joyously give the first portion back to the building of His Kingdom, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Matthew 6:21).
