In addition to nature taking its course with budding pumpkins around Peace Lutheran's fertile soil, youth - with the aid and craftsmanship of Dale Larson - have undertaken to "grow" a giant one, "The Great Pumpkin" - layer by layer (of paper mâché, of course)! Pictured is one young helper covering the framed chicken wire with starch-drenched newspaper strips. The pumpkin stands taller than she!
We are looking for more young volunteers (and older ones, too)! If you'd like to help layer on a second, third (or fourth) layer before we begin painting (and painting again), then join us Sunday after Services to grow The Great Pumpkin. And, as we do, we grow in anticipation for this year's annual fall Peace Pumpkin Patch & Fest.
Mark your calendars, this year's Pumpkin Fest will repeat on several Saturdays: October 12, 19 & 26. We are also looking for adult volunteers to help with baked goods, manning booths, selling pumpkins, sharing farm animals - and more. See Mike Schultze or a member of the Youth Board if you can help.
